News : January 18, 2010

Connectix Cabling Systems will feature alongside Sun Microsystems and Vault Technology Services to present a seminar for understanding the latest best practice and infrastructure strategies for storage and data centre environments.

Delegates will benefit from experienced speakers discussing solutions that keep up with today’s increasing I/O demands that plague today’s servers and transactional database needs. Sun Microsystems will look at the development of Flash technology emerging as a new enterprise class storage option for faster I/O performance compared with legacy hard disk drives. Connectix Cabling Systems will discuss the development of Fibre Channel over Ethernet and solutions within Data Centre SAN environments and the media solutions for physical cabling infrastructure to provide the bandwidth and technology for evolving data centres.

The seminar will be held at the Vault Technology Services Facility, Admiralty Tunnel, Gibraltar. What is unique about this data centre is its unprecedented security, anonymity and continuity – situated 190 metres below ground level. The data centre facility provides the highest security and operational management services for data protection, disaster recovery and business continuity by helping customers to ensure the highest levels of confidence in their ability to meet compliance and operational demands. This recently decommissioned NATO headquarters for the Western Mediterranean is designed to withstand aerial and other attacks and is located in the Rock of Gibraltar.
