IET Thanks Connectix for Outstanding Support

News : July 19, 2007

The Institution of Engineering and Technology would like to place on record the outstanding and sustained level of support that Connectix have given to the Institution, and in particular to the activities of Built Environment Technologies Network BETNET.

The dissemination of knowledge and the provision of networking opportunities for members, prospective members and for other interested professionals, is central to our charitable philosophies and our means of delivery. As the new institution moves forward we recognise the increasing importance of collaboration with commercial organisations in the furtherance of these aims.

The Data Centre Design Seminars have proved to be very popular drawing interest from engineers and managers of all disciplines from across the UK and Ireland. More importantly, given the IET's global prospective, additional interest has come from the Middle East, South Africa, Nigeria, Mexico, Hong Kong, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and mainland Europe.

We would like to thank you for Connectix's generosity, not only in hosting four scheduled events in 2006 and 2007, but also for the flexibility demonstrated in accommodating three extra events to cope with the high level of demand in the south east of England. In particular we would like to acknowledge the efforts of Alistair Evans and Clare Burgess in supporting the organisation of the events and of course Barry Elliott CEng MIET in the delivery of the seminars.

We trust that Connectix have also found these events to be worth while and we look forward to continuing our association with you into 2008.
