The Data Centre Seminar in Glasgow presented by Barry Elliot was most informative. It moved at a good pace and had a good balance with regards presentations and question and answer sessions. I had a most enjoyable experience at a very professionally run Seminar.
Allan Harris, Data Centre Technical Specialist at BT
This was a good practical review of the M&E requirements associated with Data Centre design. The seminar contained useful rules of thumb guidance supported by examples of current good practice, examples of poorly designed facilities and offered a view of future developments in the industry. Highly recommended.
Garry Scott, Associate at Ramboll Whitby Bird
Data centre design was extremely informative and definitely worthwhile attending!
Gavin Richardson, Managing Director at OPUS Building Services
Excellent seminar. Clear, concise and informative.
Neil Hadden, Associate at Hurley palmer flatt
The seminar was excellent. We are about to undertake major refurbishment works in two of our data centres so the presentations and information supplied will be very useful. I have recommended this to my colleagues who will be attending future seminars.
Phil Noyce BEng (Hons), Plant Engineer at Ford Motor Company
Generally overall I found the seminar excellent and very relevant to the design work I am involved with at present which is the construction of three new data centres at DVLA Swansea. The seminar was pitched at the right level and as an electrical engineer gave me an overview of the associated services which go into the construction of a new data centre.
Tony Goddard, Senior Electrical Engineer at WSP Buildings
The seminar is an informative and enlightening overview into the many technical issues surrounding modern data centre design. The Connectix presentation and hospitality were excellent and I thoroughly recommend it.
Cameron Steel IEng MIET, Principal Electrical Engineer at Parsons Brinckerhoff
The presentation by Connectix and the subjects covered for the data centre seminar was excellent. It managed to get through a great deal of information and topics in the days session. I think that presentations of this nature are extremely useful and gave everyone a good opportunity for discussion on the particular topics.
Bruce Knowles I.Eng FIET. MCIWEM, Director at BK Design Associates UK Ltd
The role of an electrical engineer designing a wide range of services within a building it is important to stay in touch with the latest technologies and trends. The Connectix Seminar gave a sound introduction to some of the key design issues associated with data centre design.
Mike Farrell , Electrical Engineer at Arup
Good intro to data centres. Would be good to have future events on more specific areas, e.g. a day on cooling options.
Matt Eades, at Arup
Very good presentation. Well worth my time.ery good presentation. Well worth my time.
Denis Cross, Technical Director at Parsons Brinckerhoff
Seminar was very excellent, especially for the data room design details and the cabinet arrangement details. Also the catering was very nice as well.
Willie Yu, Graduate Engineer at Hurley palmer flatt
I thought the seminar was excellent and the presenter extremely knowledgeable. Particularly, I learnt a lot about the non cabling side of data centres - the cooling, ventilation and power consumption and how all aspects need to fit together. The venue was fine and the catering excellent
Rosemary McGlashon, European Technical Manager at 3M UK plc
The Data Centre Design seminars run by Connectix had been a help in identifying some areas that needed further clarification. The original specification had been put together but as with all projects of this size and complexity there were grey areas, we had the perfect opportunity during the start of the project to talk direct with experienced engineers and see samples.  This meant that the effective bonding of each panel onto a Screen Bonding Conductor Busbar (SBCB) within each cabinet and shielded patch cables labelled and tested before delivery helped the project run smoothly.
Shaun Grudgfield, Infrastructure Consultant for Communications at North Tyneside Council
Looking at the completed installation, I cannot fault the quality of the work and would certainly recommend Electron and Connectix to any company undertaking a similar project.
Nik Chambers, Operations Director at C A Sothers
Connectix has supplied us with quality fibre optic cable and components that have proved over the years to be reliable products that we can lay into our ducts without any issues.  The price has to be competitive and we demand quality cable. We cannot afford any failures, this site is 24 / 7 and if the network failed we would have lorries queuing to Timbuktu. The port will continue to invest in IT over the coming years to ensure Felixstowe maintains its pre-eminent position and Connectix Ltd will certainly be considered as a trustworthy partner.
Tony Isherwood , Manager at Port of Felixstowe
what we need is reliability throughout infrastructure that sits behind the servers; hence we have invested in Cisco switches, Minkels and Rittal cabinets, Liebert Hiross and Connectix, what we consider to be best of breed products. The good news is Connectix preterm provides great value, when you consider the simplicity of installation... We require a solid infrastructure otherwise this business fails.  Connectix at Limehouse has provided a great service that is local, giving us the confidence to now offer our Data Centre installation service to others.
Doug Richardson , Chairman at Server City Ltd
Connectix has provided us with a flexible, cost effective system which was installed on time and which has proved entirely reliable.
Clifford French, Head of ICT at Camden School for Girls
Connectix Cabling System was recommended by Cabling Solutions as a cost effective product which would suit the working environment of the school. We are pleased with the result, a comprehensive and flexible solution designed for education.
Mr A Edgar BEng, Director of ICT at Culford School
It is our view that this [Research Machines case study] should prove that Connectix products and services are recommended highly by RM. Anyone considering other manufacturers should take heed of RM’s experiences and look at the proven track record of Connectix.
Dave Giovanni, IT Director at Gregory Pennington
The Lambpit Street project was delivered on price and on time in difficult circumstances when you consider we had to ensure the Council services remained open during the whole period of the project! Since the installation was completed we have had no issues with any links.
Ralph Hardy, Support Services Manager at Wrexham Borough Council
We were a little wary of Connectix at first as they did not have the name or history of our previous supplier but the more we studied the product and the warranty the better it got. After seeing the comprehensive testing of cable, outlets and panels we felt we could not justify paying more for any other option. Seven years on we can only thank the Connectix team for the high quality product and service they have supplied. This has given the Trust a cost effective and future proofed solution.
Mick Dodgson , Facilities Manager at Exodus Travel
Alsinet have always delivered a cost effective and technically robust service that is underpinned by an excellent range of suppliers where lasting quality is the watchword.
Roy Hayes, Facilities Manager at Exodus Travel
This has been a complex project we have had no problems since installation. You would expect teething issues which we had planned for but I am glad to say our planning time was wasted.
Sid Hawkins, Engineering Support Manager at AAIB
Our main contractor CAT Ltd supplied and installed an extensive fibre network, this is a key part of our operations on Frog Island. We are pleased to say they delivered a quality solution on time and on budget.
