This main communications room has a fibre link back to the server room in the old school. Each cabinet has Procurve ethernet switches installed without PoE for cabled connections or with PoE for the wireless.
The Main Contractor designed a tight schedule to allow the last game in 06/07 season to be played and guarantee a working stadium by November 2007. Converge Networks had to ensure delivery on time. 253 Enhanced Category 5 outlets and a wireless network were installed throughout the 114m long stadium at Kingsholm. Converge also installed the AV and PA systems within the specification. Special consideration had to be made for the design of the network to ensure the media teams, printed press and TV broadcast teams; had enough bandwidth and connections within the stand.
During the second half of 2008 Worcester Warriors had a new three storey cantilever stand built with an office block at one end. Converge Networks were awarded contracts to install the technical infrastructure for the whole stand and office block. The outside seating terraces were completed and opened first, with the three storey stand opening shortly afterwards. The office block was completed just before Christmas 2008. From the installation of the first piece of containment to the last television being tuned, Converge Networks successfully designed, installed and commissioned the whole technical infrastructure in less than 16 weeks.
